Details for Auditioning Dancers

 

Our full Friday evening Scholarship Auditions are a formal, adjudicated audition process including segments of Ballet, Jazz, and Modern techniques.  Dancers must participate in all parts of the audition.

 

Groups are divided by ages as follows:  9 & 10 yr olds, 11 & 12 yr olds, 13 & 14 yr olds, 15 to 22 yr olds.  There is a a maximum of 40 per group, and slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.  All auditioning dancers MUST be registered for the entire festival weekend.

 

Experienced dance professionals from universities and professional performance groups comprise the adjudication panels.  Dancers are evaluated on their technique, alignment, musicality, and performance quality.

 

Dancers should present themselves in a professional manner, with ladies in black leotard and pink tights, and gentlemen in black tights and white shirt.  Dancers must be prepared with jazz shoes or pedinis for jazz technique, and bare feet for modern.
